Advances in Tech Literacy

Jan 16, 2020

To equip our students for success, they need to be equipped with the tools to thrive in a tech-driven world. With your help, Torah Academy recently made important progress in integrating new technology equipment into its classrooms. In many ways, TA is a model for how innovation and tradition can blend seamlessly.

The most visible improvement is the ability to provide each  student in grades 5-8 with a Chromebook (laptop). Rather than learning computer software in a dedicated lab, students can now experience  “blended learning”, which puts computers in every classroom and combines online educational materials with traditional classroom instruction methods.

Putting devices in the hands of students enables the following outcomes:

  • Teachers can deliver more personalized content and lessons to students, while allowing students to learn at their own pace and ability level.
  • Students become technologically skilled, and thus better prepared for modern workplaces. They are also enabled to do more complex and creative work by allowing them to use digital and online applications and tools.
  • School leadership can improve the administration and management of the classrooms by making it easier to gather information, thus enjoying better communications among students, teachers, and parents.
