After close to twenty-five years of teaching in the Greater Boston Area, I can say Torah Academy is truly special and unique. Among the areas Torah Academy excels is finding, hosting, and providing world class professional development. Whether it’s bringing in acknowledged leaders in their field or supporting teachers in developing peer learning communities, Torah Academy doesn’t settle for “good enough” or “close enough.” When Torah Academy sought to strengthen its writing curriculum Ruth Culham was brought in not only for a two-day seminar, but for a year of PD to mentor teachers and support the change in writing instruction and development. A key factor of what sets Torah Academy apart is that the goal of fostering lifelong learning is supported from Pre-K up by giving time for all our scholars to learn, adapt, and grow, whether they be students, teachers or far more likely, both.
